This year the poems we gave out were written by a former student who graduated our High School in the early ’80s. Eleonore Schonmaier is an award winning poet who has three volumes of her collected works in print and some poems have even been set to music!
Students and teachers at RLDHS should be very proud to have such an accomplished poet find her beginnings in our little neck of the woods. She has come a long way from the small town of Madsen in Northwestern Ontario and now divides her time between Nova Scotia and The Netherlands.
